Back in the early 1960s, the American car market was undergoing a big change.

Following the success of cars such as the Corvette, the change and evolution were clear.

American buyers wanted more luxurious and more powerful cars.

And Chevrolet was all too happy to respond to the demand.

The brand introduced the Chevelle to fill the gap between the Chevy II and the larger Impala.

In order to tackle the burgeoning muscle car market, Chevrolet responded with force.

It released the Chevelle Malibu Super Sport in order to provide a lot of extra kick.

Despite only being produced for 13 years, the Chevelle has become a muscle car of legend.

It is regularly considered to be one of the best ever built.

And now, one has been reclaimed from the sands of time in a recent viral video.

A YouTube channel, Backyard Barn Finds, recently uploaded a video.

In said video, the channel heads to the state of Maine to check out a car.

And it just happens to feature a 1970 model Chevrolet Chevelle. YouTube Video

It turns out that this icon had been stored in Maine since 1994.

The team pulled the car out into the yard in order to get a closer look.

Despite parts of the rear appearing to be rotten, the rear is surprisingly intact.

In fact, one of the team remarked that it, ‘looks like a complete car.’

All of the core engine components appeared to be present, but they all looked quite badly rusted.

This Chevelle is going to need a complete restoration before it’s purring once again.

However, the team appears optimistic about their chances of reviving this muscle car icon. The post Found in a Maine barn this ’70 Chevelle is getting the ultimate revival appeared first on Supercar Blondie.
