The all-electric Honda Prologue has quietly outsold almost all of the competition after seeing a surge in sales last month.
Honda announced the Prologue in October 2022, and the EV went into production in early 2024.
It’s the first major EV offering from Honda, with previous models, like the Clarity and Fit, failing to attract big sales.
However, it seems the Prologue is set to buck the trend.

The Honda Prologue has had a strong year so far
The Honda Prologue has become a bit of a surprise hit and has plenty of very happy customers, including one woman who calls it a ‘Range Rover dupe‘.
The car is available with two powertrains: a single motor option offering 218hp, or a dual motor 288hp version.
The Honda Prologue offers up to 296 miles of range and is capable of up to 155 kW peak during DC fast charging.
The SUV has become one of America’s most popular EVs and has seen a sharp rise in sales in 2025.
In the second half of this year, it’s become the best-selling EV SUV behind the enduringly popular Tesla Model Y. No mean feat.
Through the first eight months of 2025, Honda sold almost 32,000, with 9,347 of them selling in August alone.
This makes August 2025 the best sales month ever for the Prologue and represents an 80 percent increase over August 2024.
There were more sales of the Prologue in August than the Honda Odyssey, which sold 6,690 units, and the Honda Passport, which sold 5,173.
It also outsold most other EV models in the US, including the Ford Mustang Mach-E, which shifted 7,226 units, a record-breaking month for the Mach-E, and the Hyundai Ioniq5, which sold 7,773.
EVs have been having a surge of popularity in the US
It’s not just the Honda Prologue that has seen a surge in sales in recent weeks – July 2025 was the second-biggest sales month ever for EVs in the United States.
In total, 130,000 people took delivery of a brand-new EV in July, making it the second biggest-selling month behind December 2024.
The rise in EV sales is believed to be driven by both motorists and dealers wanting to take advantage of the federal tax credit before it expires at the end of this month, after which almost all EVs will effectively be $7,500 more expensive.The post Honda Prologue quietly outsells most of its competition after 80% spike in August appeared first on Supercar Blondie.
