Ferrari F40 redefines the supercar

Any car fan worth their salt knows more than a little bit about this icon.

The iconic 2.9 liter, twin-turbocharged V8 was personally developed by Nicola Materazzi.

The Maranello marque modified the powerplant of the 288 GTO, coming as an enlarged, high-revving variant.

Because the F40 was so powerful, Materazzi had to go to Pirelli to develop custom tyres that could withstand the power.

The Pirelli P-Zero – an F1-inspired – tire had to be built specifically for the F40.

Ferrari collaborated once more with Pininfarina to produce one of the most beautiful Ferraris ever built.

Aside from being a truly wonderful supercar, the F40 was the last car to personally be approved by Enzo Ferrari.

Ferrari’s masterpiece was unveiled in July 1987 at the Civic Centre in Maranello.

And the rest, as they say, is history – the F40 endures as one of the greatest supercars of all time.

A man from Japan took his F40… camping?

All the way back in 2014, we got one of the earliest examples of people questioning if AI had been used.

The reason for this came from Japan – because an image went viral of a Ferrari F40.

Specifically, this $3,000,000 icon was pictured at a campsite – but this was very real.

In case you’ve never heard of him, Takeshi Kimura is something of a car community hero.

The Japanese native is known for his crazy car collection – and for actively using them, too.

This camping scene with the F40 is very real – in fact, Kimura even cooked eggs using the exhaust.

We can’t say it’s the most traditional usage of the Ferrari F40 – but it’s a very cool one, for sure. The post Japanese car collector took his $3 million Ferrari F40 on a camping trip in a secluded creek appeared first on Supercar Blondie.
