Next-gen version of America’s best-selling new car will debut tomorrow

The next-gen version of America’s best-selling new car will debut tomorrow, and while loads of people think it’s the Ford pickup truck, it’s actually the Toyota RAV4.

We have been treated to some teaser pictures of the new 2026 Toyota RAV, but the automaker is preparing for a big reveal on YouTube tomorrow.

The past 44 years have seen the half-ton F-150, heavy-duty F-250, F-350 and F-450 Super Duty models from Ford dominate the market. However, that’s only the case when factoring in all of their sales combined, as the RAV4 is the best-selling individual model.

The teasers from the redesigned SUV have given us a glimpse of its Prius-like C-shaped headlights and chunky body shape, which is quite like the Land Cruiser and 4runner in appearance. However, based on previous releases, we think it’s a hybrid.

The Japanese-made Toyota RAV4 has been a big seller in the US, as sales were up nine per cent last year to 475,193, while new sales of the Ford-F150 were actually down by five per cent to 460,915.

This must be why Toyota is really drumming up excitement about the 2026 release of the Toyota RAV4 car after releasing some very secret teaser stills.

The automaker is going to premiere its new model on YouTube tomorrow (May 21) at 9:00pm Eastern Time, so set your alarms if you want to see the live reveal.

Speculation is mounting that an RAV4 GR Sport model could also be released tomorrow. Rumors emerged after a picture was shared by Toyota’s global Facebook page (via topelectricsuv), which appeared to show an RAV4 model with a large rear wing, a black roof with a floating effect, privacy glass, and dual-tone paint.

A lot of Toyota’s recent releases have been available as hybrid powertrains, so we wouldn’t be wrong to assume the 2026 release will be one too.

One thing is for sure: we cannot wait to see what the next-gen of America’s best-selling car has to offer. Tomorrow can’t come soon enough. The post Next-gen version of America’s best-selling new car will debut tomorrow appeared first on Supercar Blondie.
