The 2026 Dodge Charger Sixpack is the carmaker’s way of proving that gasoline-powered muscle cars won’t be losing to their EV counterparts just yet.

While the brand has been trying to steer into an electric future, it turns out most muscle car fans still crave the roar, rumble, and gas fumes of the real thing.

Sales of the electric Dodge Charger have been lukewarm at best, especially compared to the now-legendary Hemi V8 models like the Hellcat and Demon.

So Dodge is bringing back the noise, the speed, and yes, the ability to roast a set of tires with ease.

Pick between two versions of the 2026 Dodge Charger Sixpack

The new Charger Sixpack uses a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged inline-six, known as the Hurricane engine.

While Charger fans might be disappointed that it’s not a V8, this isn’t just any ordinary six-cylinder.

It’s the same one that’s already impressed truck fans in the Ram 1500 RHO, delivering performance that can rival, and sometimes beat, the old V8s.

There are two flavors to choose from: the Sixpack R/T, offering 420 horsepower for under $50,000, and the Sixpack Scat Pack, a 550-horsepower beast starting under $55,000.

Both come with all-wheel drive by default, but if you want to channel your inner burnout champion, you can switch to rear-wheel drive.

The Scat Pack version comes with some delicious extras for enthusiasts.

There’s Line Lock, which basically turns burnouts into a one-button party trick, and Launch Control, which helps you rocket off the line with perfect traction.

There’s even a special ‘Donut Mode’, which allows drivers to temporarily route torque exclusively to the rear wheels.

Dodge claims the Scat Pack Sixpack can hit 60 mph in just 3.9 seconds and blast through the quarter mile in 12.2 seconds.

That’s quick enough to embarrass more than a few sports cars, thought it falls short of many American muscle cars that still dominate the streets in 2025.

Bringing back the noise

One of the biggest complaints about Dodge’s EV muscle cars has been the lack of authentic sound.

The electric Charger tries to fake it with pre-recorded engine noise and seat vibrations, but it hasn’t quite fooled anyone.

In fact, Dodge even had to recall the EV variant of the Charger, because it made too little noise, which would be hilarious if it wasn’t so sad.

The Sixpack fixes that with a dual-mode active exhaust, tuned to deliver the deep, throaty soundtrack muscle car lovers crave.

Visually, it gets a unique hood, bigger front fascia for more airflow, and rolled exhaust tips out back.

The 2026 Dodge Charger Sixpack is set to hit showrooms in late 2025, giving muscle car fans what they’ve been asking for (well, mostly).

Now, if only Dodge would follow in the footsteps of the 2026 Ram 1500, and reintroduce the Hemi V8 to their Chargers, that would be perfect. The post Next‑gen Charger Sixpack to pack 550hp and a donut mode appeared first on Supercar Blondie.
