Every time we say goodbye, we cry a little... The post RIP to all the popular cars that will be discontinued this year appeared first on Supercar Blondie.

Nothing lasts forever in the car world, as proven by the popular cars being discontinued this year.
With changing consumer demands, these models are being phased out after 2025.
Different brands are represented, from Audi to BMW to Cadillac.
There are a lot of good cars going into retirement, but they won’t be forgotten.

These popular cars are being discontinued this year
It’s never easy to say goodbye to a car model when it gets discontinued, but it’s just a part of life.
Car tastes change, people move on, and some models become unsustainable.
Manufacturers have different ways of bowing out for beloved models.
When Ford discontinued the Edge, they set up a farewell website in its honor – seriously.
On the flip side, when the Toyota Supra was set for retirement, the manufacturer opted to go out in style with one final edition.
With more popular cars set to cease production by the time this year is out, we’ve yet to see how they’ll be commemorated.
Audi will be discontinuing the gas-powered A4 to replace it with the A5 sedan, as well as the A7 Sportback.
The A5 will be available to order from August onwards.
As for BMW, the X4, 8 Series, and M8 Competition will all be going the way of the Dodo.
Well, not quite, because you’ll still see them around, unlike the famously extinct bird.
But you get our point.
Cadillac is doing away with both the XT4 and XT6, with the former ceasing production in January.
The latter is going to be around until the end of the year.
And it looks like the XT5 doesn’t have much longer either, with reports claiming that it would be phased out in 2026.
Volvo and Porsche are bidding farewell to some cars, too
It’s a sad day over at Volvo, too, where the V60 Polestar is going to that big car factory in the sky.
Its retirement leaves the V60 Cross Country as the sole survivor out of the V60 compact wagon lineup.
At Porsche, both the 718 Boxster and the Cayman are going by the wayside.
They’re being taken out of the lineup to make room for EV sports cars.
But that’s not the only factor influencing this decision.
Porsche estimated it would be too expensive to re-engineer the cars to get them to comply with new cybersecurity regulations in the European Union, design911 reported.
These regulations require significant updates to vehicle software and electronic systems.
And finally, there’s the Versa from Nissan.
This would be America’s last five-speed manual transmission, and also its cheapest.
But alas, it was no match for a lack of interest in stick-shift cars and the aftereffects of tariffs.
And so it’s goodbye to all the popular cars being discontinued this year. To paraphrase Shakespeare, ‘Good night, sweet cars’.
