Saratoga car auction rakes in $8M and sets a Ferrari world record in the process

The Saratoga car auction has recently topped $8 million, and the event saw a Ferrari world record for a 458 Speciale supercar set in the process.

The Saratoga Motorcar Auction took place in September 2025, and it sold a remarkable amount of vehicles that totaled the $8 million mark.

Setting a world record for a Ferrari was also a bonus, with the car in question having a very interesting story to tell, as did five other cars at the event.

There was also another world record set, this time for a classic Jaguar, and in total, 70 percent of the cars at the event were sold.

What was the Ferrari world record?

The car that set the record was a Ferrari 458 Speciale.

This supercar sold for $800,000, the most that a 458 Speciale has ever sold for at such an event.

What made this car so special was that it was one of six consigned to the event that used to belong to Albany loan broker Kris Roglieri.

Since he was jailed, trustees have been handling his assets, which included six cars.

All six sold, and in total they brought in $2.7 million of the auction’s $8 million.

The others included $187,000 for a 1959 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz, and $660,000 for a 2020 Lamborghini Aventador SVJ.

These were not the only cars that were on sale that day, however.

A classic Jaguar was another auction highlight

The sale also saw another world record broken.

This was for the sale of a 1974 Jaguar XKE convertible.

Allegedly having had a $250,000 restoration, this gorgeous car sold for $156,750 at the event.

Some cars, however, did not sell during the course of the event.

A Porsche 911T and a Hummer H2 EV were two of the cars that did not sell.

The oldest car at the auction, a 1906 Cadillac, also didn’t sell.

Despite this, 70 percent of the vehicles did sell, culminating in the $8 million total.

The museum has not yet revealed the net income from the event, as some consigned vehicles are still being sold.

Expenses also need to be taken into account.
