A Saudi royal halted traffic in London with a Lamborghini Veneno Roadster imported from Saudi Arabia.

London is the sort of place where supercars can be spotted daily but even so, a Veneno is not something you get to see every day.

Only 14 were built.

The original price tag was outrageous, but the car is worth even more now.

One of the rarest Lamborghinis you can buy

A matte black Lamborghini Veneno was spotted near Hyde Park in London, causing the whole area to come to a halt as people broke out their phones to take pictures and videos.

London is an open-air supercar showroom because luxury cars can be seen here at every hour of every day, but the Veneno is no ordinary supercar.

There are only 14 in the world, including nine roadsters, which is what this is.

This Lamborghini, imported from Saudi Arabia and on Saudi plates, reportedly belongs to Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Farhan Al Saud.

It’s difficult to determine this for sure, but we do know that Prince Badr, the country’s current Minister of Culture, once spent $450 million for a painting, so $6.5 million for a Lamborghini is a drop in the bucket for him.

About the Veneno

Introduced to mark Lamborghini’s 50th anniversary, the Veneno is based on the Aventador.

Veneno, which is Spanish for ‘venom’, is road legal and powered by a 6.5-liter naturally-aspirated V12, delivering 650 horsepower and giving it a 0-100km/h (0-62mph) time of just 2.9 seconds.

The top speed is 221mph – or 355km/h.

This is one of the most expensive Lambos in the world.

Back when it was new, it had a price tag of $4 million, whereas now you need a lot more than that to buy one.

For example, a Lamborghini Veneno Roadster was sold through SBX Cars for $6 million.

More to the point, it is also a rare car, which means that having money to buy it isn’t enough unless you find somebody that’s willing to sell theirs.

This is probably why people are resorting to replicas or DIY Veneno kit cars based on other Lambos. The post Saudi prince halts London traffic with ultra-rare $6.5M Lamborghini Veneno flown in from Saudi Arabia appeared first on Supercar Blondie.
