This announcement comes just a day after the SEC launched “Project Crypto,” which touched on several salient issues in the crypto industry, including the classification of crypto assets and registration of crypto products. The Commission also aims to move U.S. financial markets on-chain. Meanwhile, commenting on the upcoming SEC crypto roundtables, Commissioner Peirce said that they want to hear from people who were not able to travel for the roundtables that took place this past spring in Washington, D.C., and may not have had a voice in past policymaking efforts. The Commissioner added that the Crypto Task Force is aware that any regulatory framework will have far-reaching effects. As such, they want to ensure that their outreach is as comprehensive as possible.
