Baseball’s biggest game in 70 years is taking place at a Tennessee race track, and it’s set to be an event to remember.
The Bristol Motor Speedway is set to exchange exhausts for extra innings as baseball takes over this weekend.
It’s all to play for with the Atlanta Braves and Cincinnati Reds going head-to-head.
Plus, the NASCAR venue is set to bring in an attendance of more than 85,000 fans to the race track.

Baseball’s biggest game is hitting the race track in Tennessee
Tennessee is a state known for its impressive NASCAR racetrack, Bristol Motor Speedway.
But, for once, the track is being used for something other than a car-related competition.
Instead of clouds trailing off the dirt track, baseball‘s biggest game is set to take place at the track, swapping drafting for double play.
The event is called the MLB Speedway Classic, and it is the first of its kind to happen in the state, with over 85,000 in attendance expected.
The Atlanta Braves and Cincinnati Reds are set to go head to head in the ultimate baseball battle, all in a reported pop-up baseball diamond.
“Before the Speedway Classic, the ceremonial first pitch will feature two Hall of Famers who spent the entirety of their careers representing the competing Clubs,” the event page stated.
The Hall of Famers will consist of Chipper Jones and Jonny Bench, with Jones throwing the first ceremonial pitch to Bench during Baseball’s biggest game, with NASCAR-themed elements integrated throughout too.
Despite the Baseball takeover, Tennessee still has a huge car culture
Aside from the famous NASCAR race track, Tennessee is also full of other car enthusiasts.
From muscle car lovers to hypercar enthusiasts, the state’s collection of cars is impressive.
For example, an incredible fleet of rare Chevy muscle cars was unveiled in Tennessee after years of hiding within private garages.
Plus, we can’t forget the time that these Tennessee brothers rebuilt a Lamborghini Aventador, but during the first test drive, the car started melting.
It’s clear to see there’s lots going on within the state, but the biggest baseball game is set to bring a new buzz to sports fans both far and wide.
The event commences on August 2nd, with tickets and more information available here.
