An American man bought a super cheap Tesla Model S EV in Florida, and yet there was nothing wrong with it.
The 2013 Tesla Model S 60 was sold for less than $10,000, and we’ve been struggling to work out why it sold for so little money.
Other than having a repainted back bumper and being over 10 years old, this Tesla had no obvious faults either.
The EV had been looked after well for all of its life, so it perhaps comes as no surprise that it turned out to be quite a bargain.

According to its listing, the previous owner of the Model S bought it in December 2018.
In those seven years since, it has only had 30,000 miles added to its total mileage.
That brings the odometer reading to just over 86,000.
While battery degradation could have been a worry, that isn’t the case with this Tesla anymore.
The listing says that the 12-volt battery under the hood was replaced four and a half years ago.
That should ensure its range is still good, even after 12 years on the road.
Plus, the previous owner also ensured the center screen received UV treatment.
It even had a software update as recently as 2022.
As a slightly older Tesla, this Model S has a dashboard, something many people wish newer ones also had.
The car’s listing also reveals that the brake fluid was flushed in 2024.
So there is nothing wrong with this Model S.
The fact that it has had a battery replacement makes it an even more compelling purchase.
Under the hood, it has a 60kWh battery, and its motor outputs 302HP and 317LB-FT of torque.
Originally, the range of this Model S 60 was 208 miles, and it’s still likely to be close to that figure in 2025.
With nothing to fault on this Tesla, it’s amazing just how cheap the car was when it sold.
The new owner allegedly paid $11,000 for it, but he can get a rebate of $3,300.
That brings the cost down to just $7,700 for a car that retailed at $77,600 when it was new.
