Utah man who built helicopter pad party barge for his Black Hawk has to take it apart to get to the ocean

YouTube channel HeavyDSparks turned heads last summer when he created a homemade aircraft carrier for his Black Hawk helicopter.

The account is run by two friends, David Sparks and David Kiley, popularly known as the Diesel Brothers.

Their channel is renowned for its high-octane content, featuring daring rescues, custom vehicle builds, and off-road adventures.

However, their floating party barge has to be one of their most innovative stunts yet.

Built to land a helicopter on the water

In his latest video, the channel described how the Diesel Brothers were heading to Lake Powell, a large reservoir on the Colorado River in Utah, for some adventure sports.

However, they came across a little problem. Aircraft, like their Black Hawk helicopter, are not allowed to land on the shoreline, as the reservoir is located within a National Park.

Their solution? Create a floating platform in the middle of the reservoir, so their helicopter can land there legally.

Some improvements were made

However, the floating barge has been on shore for the last few months, as the YouTuber embarked on a new project with it.

He revealed that he recently sold his 80-foot-long barge to a customer in California, who was interested in replicating his summer antics.

Because of the platform’s sheer size, it has to be taken apart to be delivered to its new owner.

Shockingly, it took only three-and-a-half hours to disassemble the barge, which is seriously impressive considering how massive it is.

However, this wasn’t the end of it.

Sparks’ team also made several modifications to the floating platform, as the original version was assembled in less than two weeks, and was in need of some improvements.

Some of the changes made included making the bottom of the platform fully enclosed in order to reduce drag and increase efficiency.

Sparks also floated the idea of adding a ramp that slides down to the beach, and a diving board, making his party barge even more pimped out.
