Man bought neglected Tesla Roadster for cheap then sold it on for massive profit

This man bought a neglected Tesla Roadster for a cheap price and overhauled it for a massive profit.

The Roadster was Tesla’s first ever release, taking inspiration from another supercar.

As you’d expect, some of the early models are huge parts of EV history.

But this one needed more than just a slight polish to look good as new.

Tesla’s journey began with the Roadster

This car was the first real headline-maker from Tesla, even getting sent into space.

In the 2000s, it was the flagship model for Tesla.

Fast-forward over a decade, and the EV brand now has a full fleet of cars – including the much-discussed Cybertruck – to choose from.

But wait until you see the Tesla this man managed to get his hands on.

He purchased a 2010 Tesla Roadster

However, it wasn’t just any old Roadster.

The creator says that it was imported from Japan, making it significant in the history of EVs, as part of the ‘Signature 12’ range.

The car was a ‘total gamble’ according to the creator as it had been modified and neglected for a number of years.

Even though it had just 5,000 miles on the clock, it had some problems, including charging issues.

As a result, the car needed lots of work done before a significant profit could be made, so the creator and his team got to work.

Some missing parts needed to be sourced and installed, which wasn’t the most straightforward task.

They started by cleaning the car thoroughly, bizarrely even using dry ice after removing the protective film on the exterior to protect the paint.

Dry ice cleaning was used to ensure the car was in pristine condition before the missing parts, like the top, were installed.

The headlights were also restored, ensuring the tiny details were taken care of.

After a hard graft, there was an impressive result

After all of the hard work, polishing, cleaning, and restoring the car, the crew was amazed.

“I can’t believe this is the same car we started with. This Tesla went from one of the most neglected examples to one of the cleanest on the market,” the creator explained.

“All it took was some elbow grease, some amazing products, and this awesome supercar canvas,” he continued.

They had a right to be proud, as after buying the car for just $35,000, they were offering it at an asking price of a whopping $150,000.

They spent $42,000 overhauling the car from hero to zero, meaning the potential profit could be as high as $108,000.

Not bad, right?
