Auto giant Ford released a GT that cost more than a Lamborghini and launched the company into a new dimension.

This GT was a breath of fresh air for the company – but carried a hefty price tag for its perks.

The release was so souped up that it even rivaled Lamborghini’s golden Aventador.

However, thanks to its rich history, the GT was an impressive launch for Ford.

Ford has a varied fleet of cars

The car brand has produced many impressive vehicles, ranging from daily drivers to pickup trucks.

To add to its creative flair, the company even asked Chinese students to design a new Mustang.

This model, though, was part of the reason that gearheads give the brand such legendary status.

The Ford GT was a recipe for auto success

When it was released the 2016, the Ford GT, a second generation of the 2005 release, propelled the company into a different league.

The car came complete with a new powerful engine and impressive features to rival even the most established supercar, such as a Lamborghini Aventador.

“Whether on the road or on the track, every single element of the Ford GT was designed to deliver the extraordinary speed and exceptional handling found only in purpose-built racing cars,” said the company itself.

The engine was none other than a V6 engine, with the output designed to ‘deliver pure performance’.

That being said though, production was reportedly limited to just 250 cars each year. So the price would have to reflect the exclusivity.

In 2017, the car had a hefty price tag that rivaled Lamborghini’s

According to Car and Driver, the base price for a 2017 Ford GT had a base of $453,750, which you have to admit is a hefty sum.

However, the price was so high that it actually rivalled Lamborghini’s Aventador of 2016, which came in with a starting price of $443,804.

Both had similar prices, but were evidently very different brands.
