The Tesla Model S Plaid has finally been given a formidable opponent.
The Model S Plaid is famous for its wildly fast 0 to 62 mph time, with footage going viral of it blitzing past some of the most powerful cars in the world.
But now the Tesla is going up against the incredible Bugatti Divo.

The $5.8 million Bugatti Divo has an 8.0-liter W-16 engine with four turbochargers, packing 1,500 horsepower.
Bugatti claims it can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in as little as 2.4 seconds.
It’s undoubtedly one of the most powerful (and beautiful) cars in the world, but how does it stack up against the $110,000 Tesla Model S Plaid?
Well, Tesla claims its Model S Plaid can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in less than two seconds.
1.99 seconds to be exact.
This would mean the EV is 0.5 seconds faster from 0-62 mph than the multimillion-dollar Bugatti Divo.
So, there’s only one thing left to do; put it to the test.
That’s where this now-viral video comes in.
In a video posted to X by 1987 this month, the two cars go head-to-head in a quarter-mile drag race.
Filmed in the United Arab Emirates, the Divo is lined up next to the Tesla on the track.
And as soon as the flag goes down, the Tesla launches off the line like an F1 car.
The Divo isn’t far behind, but its speed off the line is noticeably slower.
The Tesla rockets past the camera, leaving the Divo in its dust.
At the end of the quarter mile, the Tesla records a time of 9.4 seconds while the Divo crosses the line in 10.9.
While that’s a clear win for the Tesla, it does come with an asterisk.
Watch it here!
The Tesla Model S Plaid proves it can dominate in the quarter mile, yes, but that’s where its dominance over the Bugatti Divo ends.
The Divo goes on to reach a top speed of 380 km/h (236 mph), and with 1.6 g’s of grip, it can tackle corners with incredible stability.
With just 40 examples ever created, it’s one of the most exclusive hypercars in the world.
And with its dorsal fin, carved hood, and massive wing, it’s undoubtedly one of the most exquisite-looking cars on the road.
