Chinese off-roader with 912HP just sold nearly 10,000 units in a single day

An incredible Chinese off-roader from Dongfeng with 912hp under the hood just sold nearly 10,000 units of the SUV in a single day.

Chinese-made cars have been bursting onto the scene recently, with the likes of Xiaomi and Nio, and now the incredible Dongfeng M-Hero M817 has reached a major milestone.

It’s proven to be a huge hit with consumers in China, and the hybrid SUV has sold in big numbers in recent weeks.

With it priced incredibly well against its biggest rivals, it’s no surprise some in America want to get their hands on it.

The Chinese off-roader is available at a bargain price

Compared to similar vehicles in America, the Dongfeng M-Hero M817 has a very competitive price.

The SUV is available for 329,000 yuan, which is roughly $46,000.

That is a very good price, made even more impressive by the features and performance of the SUV.

Brought to life with its partnership with Huawei, the M817 has 912hp under the hood thanks to its hybrid powertrain.

The SUV has a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine and two electric motors to make that big power number.

That is enough for a 0-62mph time of 4.2 seconds.

On electric power only, the off-roader is capable of traveling up to 124 miles.

Yet despite the bargain price, the SUV doesn’t look cheap.

The M-Hero M817 is impressive to look at

A sharp design helps the M817 to look nowhere near as cheap as its price suggests.

It’s angular and edgy, and arguably looks better than many of its American equivalents.

With it selling more than 10,000 units in one day, it’s clear it’s proven to be popular in its homeland.

In a single day, Dongfeng received 9,713 refundable deposits for the impressive SUV.

Chinese cars have been making waves in recent months and proving quite interesting to follow.

Xiaomi recently broke the electric production record at the Nürburgring with the SU7 Ultra.

Huawei has also claimed it can develop solid-state batteries that last up to 2,000 miles and recharge in only five minutes.

It is a very interesting time for Chinese vehicles, and we wonder what else they will come up with.
