An American from Michigan has revealed whether he regrets his Tesla Cybertruck purchase 1 year on, and breaks down the issues with the EV.

The Cybertruck has been controversial ever since it was announced, but real-world reviews have been flooding in ever since it hit the roads.

American YouTuber Dirty Tesla has owned the truck for a year and put 20,000 miles on it during that time.

A video on his channel from earlier in 2025 details his first year of ownership of the Tesla and whether he regrets buying it or not.

Does the YouTuber regret his Tesla Cybertruck purchase?

Straight off the bat, he doesn’t appear to regret buying the EV, saying that the Cybertruck has been ‘awesome’.

But, it hasn’t been perfect, and it has had some issues over the course of the year.

One was a bent quarter panel, happening not long into the ownership of the Cybertruck, which needed replacing.

One weird issue with the truck he found was that people got offended when they found out it was an EV (that’s obviously not the truck’s fault).

Many of these were pickup owners who felt it would take away their ICE-powered trucks.

Another dislike was that it was delivered without some of its promised features, such as Full Self-Driving and power share.

It now has Full Self-Driving, but the power share that allows you to power your home is still missing.

Other problems with the electric pickup truck

Warranty work has been a bugbear with the truck.

It’s not getting the work done itself; it’s more the number of issues and how annoying that has been.

A rear motor failed in the truck as well, which isn’t what you’d expect after less than a year’s ownership.

It drove without one of the motors, but it’s not the safest way to drive a Cybertruck.

Some of the issues have been quite minor niggles.

For example, some parts of the interior trim would squeak, which was certainly unusual.

Overall, though, the YouTuber did seem happy with his truck, despite the problems.

But nobody wants to deal with any problems with their new car just one year into ownership.
